An Occupational Therapist (OT) treats the whole person. OT helps people engage in daily life, prevent social isolation, cognitive and physical decline. OT improves ability to perform activities of daily living (ADL) whether you are recovering from injuries or cognitive disabilities, affecting your motor skills, emotions or behavior. OT is unique in that it uses an essential holistic approach to look not only at the reason's a client's participation in activities has been impacted, but also at the client's roles and environment. Your OT will help you to get to the root of why you look forward to social activities each week. What activities are important to you? Is it engaging with the people in your social groups? What obstacles do you need help to overcome together and participate in what is most important to you? Your Occupational Therapist will help you find the resources you need, and trains you and your family in techniques and strategies to ensure your ongoing success.

You are still ready to get started. In the state of Virginia, Direct Access allows you to receive treatment by a physical therapist for 30 days without a prescription from your doctor. This direct access allows you to be treated earlier, resulting in a quicker recovery and return to your normal activities. We will send a plan of care to the physician of your choice. All you have to do is give us a call or email us to schedule your first appointment.
