Position Overview:
As a Companion Caregiver with Full Distance, you will play a vital role in supporting families and clients with their caregiving needs. Serving as the main contact for clients and families, you will help organize and execute care plans while providing administrative and logistical support. You’ll collaborate with both internal and external partners to deliver a compassionate, personalized experience for our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert care and support for clients’ healthcare-related tasks, activities of daily living (ADLs), and independent ADLs
- Collaborate closely with clinicians and care providers to enhance the client experience
- Act as the primary point of contact for families, caregivers, and healthcare professionals, offering guidance and support
- Assist with scheduling, light housekeeping, errands, and transportation as needed
- Help coordinate clients’ care routines and evolving therapy goals with Full Distance clinicians
Qualifications:
- Ability to work on your feet for 4+ hours at a time
- Physical capacity to safely lift and transfer individuals weighing up to 150 lbs
- Reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license
- Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and a commitment to client-centered care
- Basic technology literacy for coordinating care and communication
Preferred:
- Experience providing hands-on support to individuals with complex health needs
- Background in creating high-touch, client-focused experiences
Training & Onboarding:
- Comprehensive on-the-job training with our current caregivers
- Ongoing training based on each client’s evolving therapy goals, especially for clients already receiving PT and OT services through Full Distance
Working Environment:
- 95% of time spent in direct client care or coordination in the field
- Occasional marketing or promotional field work in Huddleston and surrounding areas as needed
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 25 lbs+
- Flexibility to assist with light housekeeping and errands
