Grief Support Group
Together Through Loss
Everyone’s loss is different — but no one has to walk through it alone.
Full Distance Physical Therapy & Wellness is offering a Grief Support Group for individuals who have experienced the loss of a loved one. This welcoming space is designed to provide connection, understanding, and gentle support in a compassionate community setting.
Led by Danny
Danny is a longtime Full Distance client and friend of our team who began his own grief journey after the loss of his wife of 43 years. With the support of family, friends, and the Full Distance community, he now hopes to walk alongside others as they navigate their own paths through loss.

Meet Danny

Danny Misdom
My name is Danny, I’m a client at Full Distance, but more than that I’m a friend of Alina’s and the staff. This relationship started almost six years ago during the 2020 COVID lockdown. Alina was the Wellness Director at Lansdowne Woods of Virginia where I am a resident. She posted a ten question survey in our local bulletin. One of the questions dealt with loneliness and how one was dealing with it during the lockdown. I lost my wife and soulmate of 43 years on Thanksgiving Day 2019. I completed the survey and poured out my heart answering that question. Shortly afterwards Alina contacted me to discuss my response, letting me know she was moved by the way I expressed my feelings of loss and grief. During our conversation she suggested that I see one of her OT’s and PT. I agreed and a great professional relationship and friendship began. The amount of support and healing I gained from my sessions with Alina and her staff was unmeasurable. Recently Alina asked me if I was interested in leading a grief support group she would host at the Full Distance studio. It would be a honor to be able to do this and hopefully help others dealing with loss. I’m not a professional therapist or counselor, just a regular guy that started griefs journey six years ago and with the support of family and friends like Alina I can look on the bright side of life.
